I know most people become starry eyed when they think about creating a home based business but we do need to introduce a dose of reality and take a look and some home based business trends.

As an online entrepreneur, you want to conquer the web from your couch with a laptop and have money bells ringing continuously as the money pour into your pockets with every click of the mouse. Now, don’t get me wrong, it is very possible to do that and I have been doing that for years but it takes a lot to get to that stage.
Getting to have a business that creates a continuous automated money stream, even while you sleep takes hard work, thorough research and a professional business attitude. These are all things that are not difficult to learn or achieve with a modicum of effort if you really want to succeed in business, even a home business.

Heck, we have all seen the “Be a millionaire in a month” type offers and if those systems tempt you to take the easy path then take a step back and think, are these really going to work or am I making someone else a millionaire in a month by buying this stuff?

There are a lot of genuine opportunities out there but they are also often other “easy path” opportunities that are either re-hashes of old information, dusted off and wrapped in a new shiny package or otherwise just complete crap. The old adage “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is” is very appropriate to the home business market. Success online is very possible but it is not always easy. Sure, some people get very lucky and the right circumstances and luck all fall into place and you have immediate success and I love hearing those stories. However, for most of us, we make our own luck and success through hard work and the right business mentality.

Just today I heard one of my friends tell me about this “Get rich quick” scheme he had found online and wanted my opinion. Instead of just dismissing it out of hand, I brought him into the office to sit down with him and went through some numbers with him. I knew this was the only way to get through to him.

We examined the exorbitant claims made and how much capital was needed to even realize a fraction of what was claimed on the sales letter. Suddenly as the hype was replaced by reality and the glazed eyes filled with dollar signs returned to normal, common sense kicked in and the suitable level of doubt brought him back to earth.

Cutting through the haze of bullcrap is a difficult thing to do when you want to leave your job behind and avoid the stressful deadlines and annoying bosses. Everyone would like to have their own life and flexible job working from home with a fraction of the stress. It is the sole reason I do this myself and I can tell you it is a wonderful life to have. There are so many benefits for working from home it would take an book to go over in detail, but you get the idea.

With that being said, it does take a different attitude and you suddenly find yourself as a business owner in which ever market or industry your home based business may be. It is not an easy sail with an internet business and the transition from regular job to home based entrepreneur means you have to work very hard to achieve the success and dreams you have planted in your mind.

Now, I want you to understand one thing, I am not trying to scare you off in any way, quite the opposite. I really want you to succeed beyond your wildest dreams, have all the money you could imagine and buy me a drink when your done! In fact, the whole purpose of this website is to help you get there.
