There are over 25 million Wordpress publishers in the World, with under half of those being hosted at Wordpress.com.

It’s small wonder then, that there are literally hundreds of theme developers making a quiet fortune from free themes. Yes, there does seem to be a slight problem there, because it doesn’t make sense that a free blog theme would make money.

Well, the truth is, they are free because of there’s an upsell on the backend of these themes, which inevitably gets purchased usually because the user wants to thank the theme designer.

When you are creating sales pages, you need to get the best possible value if you are outsourcing.

There are many copywriters who will charge over $100 for a great sales page, and these copywriters can charge this because their pages convert for their clients. Really, all you need, though, is a good sales page formula, and a cheap (but good) writer.

The formula for a good sales page is really quite straightforward. If you remember some golden rules about sales pages, then you can actually write them yourself, or hook into lesser known outsourcing sites to get your page created, including graphics and copy.

Market research is a very easy route to making a lot of money. If you know what your customers really want and need, then all you have to do is server it up them on a silver platter, and reap the rewards.

They will sell the product to themselves if you can actually show them that the service is not just about getting visits to a website, or about how many backlinks you create. They don’t often speak that language, so you have to put it in real terms for them.

Since the dawn of bum marketing, people have been far too engrossed in the free side of internet marketing, such as forum links and blog comments, and they are missing the bigger picture.

This is a shame. If you were to go outside now and pay somebody $50 to print and put up a load of flyers for your garage sale, you know you would have hundreds of people on your lawn – and they would be coming with their wallets ready.

Of course, you could actually do the flyers yourself for $5.00 – but you still take the easy route.

We are bombarded gently or aggressively by advertising companies who are getting their clients’ name out to us by any means necessary.

You want to know the truth? It works. You can use the very same tactics with the most popular mediums on the internet today, and not spend a single penny.

It is genuinely difficult to get a straight answer from Google and MSN etc. about how many monthly searches you will get for a given keyword. There are tools like Google Adwords Keyword Tool, and Insights that may help, and even Adwords tools that can give you an idea, but nothing concrete that you can say “Yes – this keyword gets 300 searches a day – its golden,”.

So, trial and error ensues, and you will develop a site based on the keywords Google say get x amount of searches per day. There is one method that will give you a live analysis of a keyword, and you can test over a short period to see EXACTLY what kind of searches you will get.

The small step to offline marketing can be a giant leap in income if you do it right. There are lots of gurus who can guide you in this lucrative field, but regardless of how profitable it is, you have to be prepared to do something that 90% of other marketers will not do – and that is speak to people.

Whether you are speaking in person or over the telephone, you must know that there is some degree of person to person contact in this niche, and it pays off in spades. But what if you could have all the revenue of offline marketing, without the face to face selling?

Where most products fall down, is the presell. To get a prospect warmed up to your sales pitch, or to your product, you have to have a perfect presell, and this can be in the form of an article off-site at an article directory, or even a paid blog post on a popular blog.

The main point is, you have to have a good presell, that gets the reader hooked enough to want to click through to your site in the first place

You could argue, of course, that your traffic comes from email ads or from other sources, but to be fair, if you are not using article marketing or social marketing leverage, then you are missing out on valuable traffic.
